WELCOME TO THE SIERRA DELTA ASHRAE CHAPTER
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Please join us on September 10th for our first meeting of the year. Which will include an Air Distribution Design Workshop lead by Brett Reeves from Price Industries.
Air distribution plays a critical role in overall HVAC system performance, yet its fundamentals are often overlooked. This presentation explores key air distribution concepts and terminology, as well as two interactive examples that demonstrate a practical and accurate approach to sizing and locating air devices.
Welcome to another year with the Sierra-Delta Chapter of ASHRAE. I'm honored to serve as your Chapter President, and I'm excited about the direction we're taking this year: Changing the Game: Retrofitting for Resilience, and Back to Basics.
Our industry is being asked to do more with aging infrastructure — to make existing buildings tougher, more efficient, and better prepared for extreme weather and grid strain, rather than always starting from scratch. That means strengthening what we already have, and being smart stewards of the systems already in the ground. And sometimes the best path forward is getting back to the fundamentals — solid engineering judgment, proper commissioning, and the core HVAC&R principles that never go out of style, no matter how advanced our tools become. We'll carry this theme through our technical presentations all year.
None of this happens without our Chapter board, officers, and members. Thank you for your volunteer hours and your steady support at the grassroots level — this chapter runs on your generosity.
Whether you're chasing a specific technical topic or considering full membership, come join us. I look forward to seeing you at our monthly dinner meetings at Papapalloni's Mediterranean Bistro in Modesto, held the 2nd Thursday of each month.
